The No. 4 Lindenwood women's lacrosse team (5-1) beat Tampa (3-4) 18-8 in Hunter Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
OVERVIEW
The first period consisted of back-and-forth play from both teams before the Lions finally started to pull away towards the end of the second.
Bridget Considine netted five goals before the half to put her atop the leaderboard for Lindenwood.
Logann Eldredge was next in line, tallying two goals and two assists, while
Sara Grieco,
Lindsey Smith, and
Emma Arnold each scored a goal apiece.
The Lions held Tampa to just two goals in the entire second half, putting forth a strong defensive effort as a team.
Eleanor Kast recorded seven saves and a .467 save percentage for a solid performance in the net.
Zoe Totland also stepped up defensively, scooping up five total ground balls to lead the way for Lindenwood.Â
In the second half, Considine netted one more goal, while Eldredge added three more, ending the day as the top two offensive threats for Lindenwood.
Meghan Rea,
Chloe Elliott, and
Meredith Parry also contributed second half goals, while Smith tallied one more as well. Considine also led the way in total draw controls, winning four overall, with Arnold close behind at three.Â
