The Lindenwood baseball team (12-10, 1-0 GLVC) was dominant on Friday night, rolling to a 16-1 win over Southwest Baptist (5-17, 0-1 GLVC) at Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.
 
GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood took an early lead, as Austin Schmitt drove in Will Lanxon on a single to third base.  Schmitt later scored on a double by Kolby Schulte, and Michael Ward closed out the scoring in the first inning with a two-RBI single to left field.  After leading off the second inning with a triple to left center, Lanxon scored on a single by Calvin Nowak to take a 5-0 lead.
 
In the fourth inning with bases loaded, Sam Kissane drew a bases loaded walk to increase the lead to six runs.  Ward cleared the bases to make it a 9-0 lead after a double to right center.  Lindenwood surrendered a run in the fifth inning, but continued to stay hot at the plate to score more runs in the bottom of the sixth.
 
Alex Gauspohl built the lead back to nine runs with a single to centerfield, before Colin Shea brought in a couple of runs on a single to left field.  Lindenwood scored two more runs on a fielding error by the Bearcats, and Kissane drove in the final run of the game on a triple down the right field line.  Tyler Cassmeyer earned his first victory of the season, as he pitched seven strong innings.  Cassmeyer allowed just one run on five hits, while fanning five batters.
