The Lindenwood softball team (24-4, 11-1 GLVC) saw its 18-game win streak snapped on Sunday, but managed a twin bill split at Rockhurst (11-15, 6-6 GLVC) from Loyola Park Softball Field in Kansas City, Mo.

The Lions snagged a 2-1 win in the day's opener, but fell, 5-4, in the finale from a walk-off single.
Amanda Weyh struck out 11 Hawks in the game-one victory, while also going 1-for-2 with a pair of walks at the plate.

GAME ONE OVERVIEW
The Lions scored their only two runs of the game in the opening frame, with
Taylor Bushman crossing home on a wild pitch after reaching on an error. Weyh then successfully stole home, following a double to left field, when
Whitney Kinser swiped second base.

Two runs were all Lindenwood needed, as Weyh shut down the Rockhurst offense. The junior surrendered a single earned run in the sixth off a solo dinger from Maya Gallagher, but forced a flyout in the bottom of the seventh to end the Hawks' threat and win her 14th game of the spring, 2-1.

The Mokena, Ill., product scattered four hits and issued one free pass in the victory, striking out 11 Hawks to improve to 14-0 inside the circle.

Lindenwood tallied another first-inning run in the finale, with Kinser singling home Bushman, who led off the game with a knock and stolen base. The senior also forced home

Rockhurst responded in the fourth with a crooked number, plating four of its own runs off a two-run homer by Emily Clark and then a two-run single by Clare Reinhart four batters later. Lindenwood took advantage of a Rockhurst error in the fifth, with
Whitney Wendel smashing her fifth homer in eight games to knot the contest at four apiece.

The Hawks walked off in the seventh, as Josie Lindemann singling down the left-field line to score Emma Vodnansky and win, 5-4.

- Rockhurst snapped Lindenwood's 18-game win streak with its 5-4 night-cap win on Sunday. The loss also saw the Lions' 15-game streak of allowing one run or less come to an end following the walk-off defeat.
- The Lions are now 11-1 in GLVC action, sitting behind Southern Indiana (8-0 GLVC) in second place. Drury (9-1) and UIndy (5-1) also have one loss in league play this spring.
- Wendel upped her OPS to 1.122 with her weekend performance and is now slashing .406/.424/.698 through 28 games. The graduate student has 17 extra-base hits, including five homers and 11 doubles.
