Lions Blank Trojans in Spring Games Opener

The Lindenwood softball team (12-3) kept its momentum on Sunday, defeating Trevecca, 2-0, in its first contest of THE Spring Games down in Winter Haven, Fla. The Lions have now beaten the Trojans twice this season.

The day's second game against Pittsburgh at Johnstown was canceled due to a lack of umpires.

GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood clinched the season series against Trevecca, shutting out the Trojans in the teams' third bout, 2-0. Weyh continued to shine on the rubber, as the junior tossed her fourth complete-game shutout in the victory. The Mokena, Ill., native - who struck out four Trojans on Sunday morning - also went the distance in a 7-1 Lions' win on February 20 against Trevecca.

Taylor Bushman and Nicole Henson went a combined 4-for-7 in the top two positions in the batting lineup, the latter of whom tallied the game's lone RBI with a single in the second that plated Lauren Pelton. Bushman came around to score in the opening frame when Whitney Wendel reached on an error by the Trojan shortstop.

Megan Clark stretched her team-high hit streak to four in the win, while Irelynn West joined Bushman with a stolen base.
