The Lindenwood men's lacrosse team lost 11-8 against the No. 2 University of Tampa on Wednesday afternoon in Tampa, Florida.
OVERVIEW
The Lions came out strong from the beginning and went up 5-4 going into halftime after four huge goals from
Patrick Kaschalk and one from
Nolan Corker off the assist from
Cam Smith.
Kyle Hebert stayed steady in the net, making three saves, and scooping up three ground balls.
Peter Covington recorded three ground balls, and
Chase Showalter caused two turnovers, also contributing to the Lions' solid defense.
The Spartans answered back with back-to-back goals to open the third quarter, however, quickly regaining the lead. After another goal from Kaschalk and two more Tampa goals, Lindenwood ended the third quarter in a 6-9 deficit.
In the fourth, Covington netted his first of the game off the assist from
Dylan Colon, and
JP Morris also got on the board with a goal, but the Lions could not swing the momentum back in their favor. The Spartans dominated the faceoff circle, and despite a tough defensive effort from Lindenwood, Tampa scooped up 39 ground balls and caused 14 turnovers for the Lions to end the day.
