Men's Lacrosse Defeats Davenport on the Road

The Lindenwood men's lacrosse team won at Davenport 9-3 in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Saturday afternoon. 

OVERVIEW
Alex Weis got things rolling for the Lions with a goal off the assist from Peter Covington in the first minute and a half of the game. Lindenwood held Davenport to a scoreless first period, with Kyle Hebert scooping up three ground balls and making four saves to hold strong in the net.  

The second period consisted of unassisted goals from Nolan Corker and Patrick Kaschalk. Covington then netted one off the assist from JP Morris, and Kaschalk capitalized on an assist from Corker to grab two more Lindenwood goals. Cam Smith got on the board with a man-up goal off another Covington assist, and the Lions went up 6-0 right before halftime. 

Smith opened the third period with another man-up goal off the assist from Kaschalk, and things remained scoreless for most of the period. The Lions got one more in before the period ended after Covington netted one off an assist from Smith to propel the Lions to an 8-0 lead. 

Adrian Thompson grabbed his first goal of the game to kick things off in the fourth, keeping the Lions' strong attack moving. The Panthers finally got on the board in the last 10 minutes of the game, however, finally breaking past Lindenwood's tough defense. The Panthers put up two more goals before the final whistle blew, 

Colin Hunt and Oisin McTigue had impressive defensive impacts for the Lions, with Hunt grabbin seven ground balls and McTigue getting six. Chase Showalter scooped up four total ground balls to contribute to Lindenwood's strong defense, while Hebert recorded an impressive 13 total saves on the day.
