Gayla Griswold of Lindenwood gymnastics represented her team as the lone qualifying competitor at the 2022 NCAA National Championships held in Fort Worth, Texas.
After an extremely historical, record-breaking season, Griswold took the biggest stage in collegiate gymnastics as an individual in the vault. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native ended the meet with a score of 9.2750 in the event, capping off her junior year in a strong fashion.
In the vault, seven different Division I schools were represented by 27 athletes, and Griswold put Lindenwood on the map as the eighth school, a school that's never competed on that large of a platform in its' history.
"We are so incredibly proud of Gayla and everything she has accomplished this year. She has grown so much as a whole person this year along with her gymnastics and earned every right to be in that competition with the best of the best. We are looking to the ripple effect that this will have on our program, and are excited for the future," said Head Coach
