The Lindenwood baseball team (17-11, 6-1 GLVC) split Saturday's doubleheader with William Jewell (17-8, 4-3 GLVC). The Lions took the first game by a 4-2 margin, while the Cardinals closed out the day with a 3-0 win.
GAME ONE OVERVIEW
Lindenwood jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning, after
Will Lanxon and
Austin Schmitt hit back-to-back RBI singles. William Jewell tied the game in the bottom of the fifth, as the Cardinals scored a pair of runs on a two-out single to centerfield. The Lions had two runners in scoring position with two outs in the top of the seventh, when a fielding blunder allowed both runners to score. Lindenwood held on for the 4-2 victory, as
Jacob Thompson shut the door with his first save of the year.
