The Lindenwood baseball team (18-11, 7-1 GLVC) slugged its way to a 13-6 win over William Jewell (17-9, 4-4 GLVC) on Sunday in Kansas City, Mo.
 
GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood wasted no time getting on the board, as 
Jack Meyer drove in a pair of runs on a two-out double to right center in the first inning.  
Austin Schmitt led off the top of the third frame with a solo shot to centerfield.  
Sam Kissane followed with a single through the right side, and scored on a double by 
Kolby Schulte.  
Colin Shea closed out the scoring in the third inning, as he drove in two more runs on a two-out double to make it 6-0.
 
William Jewell scored two runs in the bottom half of the inning, but the Lions continued to be locked in at the dish.  The Lions put together a two-out rally in the top of the fourth, as Schulte brought two runs across the plate on his double to left field.  Meyer hit a double of his own to trade places with Schulte, making it a 9-2 ballgame.  The Cardinals chipped away at the Lindenwood lead, scoring a run in the fourth, a run in the fifth, and two more in the sixth to make it a 9-6 margin.
 
Michael Ward belted a solo shot to left field to lead off the seventh inning, bringing the lead back up to four runs.  In the top of the ninth, 
Alex Gauspohl was hit by a pitch with bases loaded to bring in a run.  
Will Lanxon closed out the scoring with a two-RBI single through the left side to make the lead 13-6.  
Jacob Thompson finished his 3.2 inning in relief, securing his second save of the season and the series win for the Lions.
