Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's Lacrosse Falls to No. 3 UIndy

The No. 7 Lindenwood women's lacrosse team lost 9-16 to the No. 3 UIndy Greyhounds on Friday afternoon in Indianapolis.

OVERVIEW
The Lions were hot on the Greyhounds' heels all throughout the first period, keeping things close with a strong offensive and defensive presence. After going down 2-0 early on, Bridget Considine netted a man-down goal to get the Lions on the board. Chloe Elliott was next up to score, tying things up off a free-position goal. The Greyhounds added two more goals, and in the last minute, Natalie Gane got her first goal of the game. Logann Edlredge closed the gap even more in the last second of the first period, netting a man-up free-position goal before the whistle blew.

UIndy scored first to open up the second period, but Sara Grieco answered with her first of the game to keep things close. Again, the Greyhounds netted two more goals, then Emma Arnold tallied her first goal of the game, keeping the score 6-8 going into halftime.

The Greyhounds blanked the Lions in the third, coming out of the period with four more goals under their belt. Lindenwood looked to regain their attacking presence, but UIndy took their lead and ran with it despite a tough fight from the Lions.

UIndy went up 13-6 to open up the fourth, but shortly after, Paige Sutton netted her first goal of the game to get the Lions back on the scoreboard again. Gane and Arnold would each get one more goal before the end of the game, but UIndy knocked in three more to edge the Lions in the end.

Game leaders include Gane and Arnold with two goals apiece, and Eldredge with the lone assist of the day. Alyssa Kneedler scooped up a solid four ground balls to lead the way for the Lions, and Eleanor Kast had a strong 11 saves throughout the game despite a tough defensive assignment.
