Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse (Discontinued) |

Men's Lacrosse Downs Rockhurst in GLVC Semifinal

The Lindenwood men's lacrosse team beat Rockhurst 11-4 on Friday night in Indianapolis, Indiana.

OVERVIEW
The first period was a battle of the goalkeepers, with Kyle Hebert and Rockhurst's Hayden Harris coming up big in the most crucial moments. The period almost ended in a 0-0 draw, despite the Lions outshooting the Hawks, until Adrian Thompson delivered in the clutch, netting an unassisted goal in the last four seconds of play.

Rockhurst got on the board in the first two minutes of the second, tying things up before scoring the next goal shortly after. Patrick Kaschalk did not crack under the pressure, however, and netted his first goal of the evening with under seven minutes left, putting the Lions right back in the game. Kaschalk kept the offense rolling into the end of the period by finding Peter Covington on the assist, who pushed the Lions ahead 3-2 going into the half.

Kaschalk showed the people why he was named the 2022 GLVC Player of the Year when he netted two back-to-back goals to open the third period, propelling the Lions forward into the largest lead of the night. Rockhurst's Alec Heflin followed suit however, netting back-to-back goals of his own for the Hawks. Alex Weis got in on the scoring with five minutes left in the third, and Kaschalk put in one more for good measure shortly after. Nolan Corker got on the board before the period ended, putting the Lions ahead 8-4 going into the final period.

Cam Smith set Kaschalk up for his fifth goal of the night after some time in the fourth period, and Covington would net another shortly after, capitalizing on the Lions late-game momentum. Weis would knock in the final goal of the game, and Lindenwood's defense would hold strong for the remainder of the night, punching their ticket to GLVC Championship with the strong group effort.
