Roller hockey won three games in two days April 6-7 at the Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan to advance to the semifinals at the National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association (NCRHA) National Championships. The Lions defeated Cal Poly 9-1 and Farmingdale State College 7-0 on Wednesday and stopped Slippery Rock 6-2 on Thursday.
In the opening contest against the Mustangs, Lindenwood jumped in front with two goals in just over three minutes. After Cal Poly scored midway through the first, the Lions scored the final seven goals to pull away.
Lindenwood outshot the Mustangs 32 to 18 and
Paul Town stopped 17 of the 18 shots he faced to earn the victory in goal.
Nick DellaMorte was named Star No. 1 with two goals and four assists,
Joe Fordyce earned Star No. 2 honors with three goals, and
Nick Berger was named Star No. 3 with a goal and assist.

Parker Winkelmann, and
Brycon Johnson also scored for the Lions.
Lindenwood controlled the contest against Farmingdale from start to finish, outshooting the Rams 26 to 8. The Lions sounded the horn four times in the first period, added one in the second, and finished with two more goals in the third.
Brandon Kerst earned Star No. 1 honors with three goals, DellaMorte was named Star No. 2 with two goals, and Berger earned Star No. 3 recognition with a goal and assist. Johnson also helped the Lindenwood cause with a single tally shorthanded.
Jacob Robinson earned the shutout in goal with eight saves on as many chances.
In the loan contest on Thursday, Slippery Rock surprised the Lions with a goal in the first 61-seconds, but Lindenwood rallied with four goals in the final seven minutes of the period to take a 4-1 lead. After a scoreless second, the Lions outscored the Rock two to one in the final frame.
DellaMorte earned Star No. 1 honors with two goals and an assist,
Christian Acosta was named Star No. 2 with two goals, and Fordyce earned Star No. 3 recognition with a goal and assist. Lindenwood outshot Slippery Rock 29 to 11 and Robinson made nine saves on 10 shots in 35-minutes of game time in relief of Town, who started and gave up a goal on the only shot he faced.
The Lions improved to 15-0 overall on the season. With the three victories, they advance to the national semifinals against No. 4 seed Bethel (Tenn.) April 9. The opening faceoff is set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the Wings Event Center. Â
