The Lindenwood baseball team (26-21, 15-11 GLVC) dropped a pair of games on Saturday to McKendree (19-26, 14-12 GLVC) by finals of 8-7 and 4-3, respectively at Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.

GAME ONE OVERVIEW
The Bearcats put three runs in the first inning to take an early lead.Â
Kolby Schulte hit an-RBI single through the right side to get one run back, but McKendree added two more in the top of the third to take a 5-1 advantage. Lindenwood pulled within one run with the help of a two-RBI double by
Michael Ward in the bottom of the fourth frame. Schulte added another RBI in the sixth inning to tie the game, as the Lions took a lead after
Austin Schmitt was hit by a pitch with bases loaded. Schulte scored on a passed ball to make it a 7-5 lead after six innings.

McKendree immediately answered with three runs in the top of the seventh inning to regain a slim lead. The Lions couldn't complete the comeback in the 8-7 loss in game one.

McKendree took a 3-0 lead to start the second game as well, which the Lions answered in the bottom of the second on an-RBI single by
Will Lanxon. The Bearcats tallied another run in the top of the third, as
Jack Meyer kept pace with an-RBI single in the bottom half of the frame.

In the bottom of the fourth, Schulte singled through the left side to bring in a run and make it a 4-3 ballgame. The Lions stranded two runners in the inning, for the fourth-straight inning in a row. Lindenwood struggled to generate offense, as the Lions hit the ball hard, but at the Bearcat fielders. Lindenwood stranded 22 baserunners on the days, falling in both games by a combined margin of two runs.
