The Lindenwood softball team (35-11) bowed out of the GLVC Championship Tournament on Sunday, dropping a 4-1 decision to top-seeded and 15th-ranked Southern Indiana (42-10) in the league semifinal. Due to weather delays the first two days, this year's tournament was narrowed to single-elimination format.
The Lions now await their fate in next weekend's NCAA DII Midwest Regional tournament. Lindenwood was ranked fourth in the most recent poll, which was released last Wednesday. The selection show is scheduled for Monday, May 9, at 9 a.m. CT on
NCAA.com.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions' lone offensive production came from the second batter of the game,
Whitney Kinser, as the sophomore drilled a dinger to left field off Southern Indiana righty Allie Goodin. The Powell, Mo., native also recorded a single in the fourth inning, while
Whitney Wendel tallied a knock in the seventh for the Lions' third hit of the contest.
Lindenwood ace
