The Lindenwood women's hockey team (0-2-0, 0-0-0 CHA) fell in the series finale to Bemidji State (2-0-0, 0-0-0 WCHA) by a score of 6-3 on Saturday afternoon from Bemidji, Minn.
GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood earned an early powerplay, but Bemidji State kept the Lions off the board. The opening frame turned into a defensive battle, as each team combined for just nine shots on goal. Lindenwood got on the board just before the halfway mark of the opening frame when
Morgan Neitzke lit the lamp for her second goal in as many days and third point of the series. The Beavers answered back five minutes later, tying the game 1-1 on the man advantage at the 14:23 mark of the opening frame, which would be the score after 20 minutes.
The Beavers came out firing to start the second period, scoring three times in under seven minutes to take a 4-1 lead. Lindenwood kept battling however, as Neitzke netted her second goal of the game to pull the Lions within two.
Sarah Davies picked up another assist, her second of the series. At the 13:04 mark of the second frame,
Ryann Perrett scored her first collegiate goal off an assist from Thea Jorgensen, making the score 4-3. Â
Bemidji State extended its lead to 5-3 early in the final frame. The Beavers would add another just past the halfway mark of the third period, extending their lead back to three. Lindenwood was unable to draw any closer as the Lions fell 6-3.
