ST. CHARLES, MO. - The Lindenwood gymnastics team placed fourth with a team score of 193.125 in their season-opening meet with the University of Florida, Ball State and West Virginia on Friday night in Gainesville, Florida.
"Overall I'm encouraged by our performance today," said Head Coach Catelyn Branson. "It was a great opportunity to start off in one of the biggest stages in the NCAA, and I feel like they handled the test very well. One event didn't go our way, but I'm confident we'll make the right adjustments and put together a great meet on Sunday at home."

INSIDE THE SCORES
- Jaly Jones made her collegiate debut in this season's opening-meet, putting up a strong 9.650 on her floor routine and 9.700 on her vault.
- Both the floor team (48.275) and the vault team (48.400) had strong showings as a collective, putting Lindenwood in second place behind the hosting Gators (98.925) after the second rotation of the night (97.125).
- Sydney Lopez put together an impressive floor performance, scoring a 9.800 to give her the second best score for the Lions in that event.
- Nya Kraus had her debut for the Lions as well on the beam, scoring 9.700 on her beam routine.
- Reagan Jones' first event in the black and gold, the uneven bars, earned her a strong 9.675 score.
- The Lions' strongest score of the night ended up being on floor (48.275), with the bars coming out to be 47.475, while the beam team finished up at 48.525.

The Lions will come right back to St. Charles for their home opener against SEMO on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in Hyland Arena.
