ST. CHARLES, MO. – On Thursday night, the Lindenwood women's soccer team took on Eastern Illinois for Senior Night. The Lions would fall to the Panthers 2-0, after two late goals.
MATCH OVERVIEW
In the first half, the match was highly contested with both teams being held scoreless through the frame. The Lions would have two shots in the half, while the Panthers had eight. As the last line of defense,
Erika Anstine made four saves for the Lions. The Panthers would have an advantage on corners with one.
Kamryn Ealey and
Maggie Weller had the two lone shots for the Lions, in the frame.
In the second half, much like the first, both teams were held at a standstill. In the 60
th minute of the game, the Panthers would find the back of the net off a penalty kick. Up to this point, the Panthers would lead 1-0. The Panthers would tally once more to seal the victory in the 84
th minute. The Lions would have six shots in the half, with three of them being on net.
Anstine started in net for the Lions, making four saves. After this affair, the Lions would move to 3-12-1 on the season, and just missing playoff contention.
