FAIRFIELD, CONN. – On Saturday night, the Lindenwood women's hockey team took on #13 St. Cloud State in the Championship game of the Ice Breaker Tournament. The Lions would be held scoreless, falling to the Huskies 5-0.
GAME OVERVIEW
Eleven seconds into the game the Huskies would score to earn the early 1-0 lead. With four minutes left in the period, the Huskies would find the back of the net once more while shorthanded to end the period. The Lions would trail 2-0, going into the second period. The Lions would have nine shots in the period, while the Huskies had thirteen.
Eight minutes into the second period, the Huskies would find the back of the net for the third time of the night, off the power-play. The Lions would keep the Huskies off the scoreboard for the rest of the period.
In the final period, the Huskies would tally twice more to extend their lead to five. The Lions had 34 total shots in the game, while giving up 31.
Natalie Ferenc started in net for the Lions, stopping 26 of 31 shots on net. After this matchup, the Lions would move to 3-5-0 on the season.
