WORCESTER, MASS. – On Friday afternoon, the Lindenwood field hockey team took on the Holy Cross Crusaders. The Lions would fall 4-2.
MATCH OVERVIEW
Five minutes into the first period, the Crusaders would tally the first goal of the game. The Lions would bounce back with one of their own five minutes later, coming from a shot from 
Alice van Hemelen assisted by 
Hailey Bainer. The period would end in a 1-1 tie. In the second period, the Lions would remain scoreless. In the 22
nd minute, the Crusaders would score their second goal of the game and regain the 2-1 lead going into halftime. The Lions would have three shots in the half, while the Crusaders had 16. 
Leah Brozovich would stop six shots in the first half.
Five minutes into the third period, the Crusaders would extend their lead to two. One minute later, 
Izzy Folan would score off a penalty shot to trail 3-2. For the remainder of the period, both teams were held scoreless. In the fourth period, the Crusaders would score once more to seal the 4-2 victory in the 54
th minute.
Brozovich would start in net for the Lions, making six stops. In the 24
th minute of the match, 
Kyla Cooke would come in to relieve Brozovich. Cooke would make four stops in her time in net. After this matchup, the Lions move to 3-10 on the season.
