ROCHESTER, N.Y. – On Saturday afternoon, the Lindenwood women's ice hockey program took on RIT for their second match of their two-game series. The Lions would fall 6-2, after being held scoreless in the first two periods.
GAME OVERVIEW
Three minutes into the first period, the Tigers scored the first goal of the game and the only goal in the period. Going into the second period the Lions would trail 1-0, to the Tigers. In the period the Lions had six shots while the Tigers had nine.
Fifteen seconds into the second period, the Tigers would find the back of the net, scoring off the power-play. Five minutes later, the Tigers would score once again, extending their lead to three. Going into the third period, the Lions would trail 3-0 to the Tigers.
With eleven minutes left to go in the final period, the Tigers would extend their lead to four. A minute later, the Lions would answer with one of their own coming from
Sydney Rarick, bringing the Tigers goal streak to an end. Up to this point the Lions would trail RIT 4-1. Eighteen seconds after the Lions scored, the Tigers would score again, bringing back their four-goal lead. Five minutes later, the Lions would find the back of the net for the second time on the night, coming from
Molly Henderson while on the power-play. The Tigers would tally once more before the end of the game, to regain the four-goal lead.
After this matchup the Lions moved to 4-6-0 on the year, and 1-1-0 in conference play.
Natalie Ferenc started in net, making 30 stops.
