Women’s Soccer Blanked by Southern Indiana

EVANSVILLE, IND. – On Sunday afternoon, the Lindenwood women's soccer team took on the University of Southern Indiana. The Lions would be held scoreless, falling to the Screaming Eagles 3-0.

MATCHUP OVERVIEW
The match would remain square until the latter part of the first half. In the 38th minute, the Screaming Eagles would find the back of the net to lead 1-0. The Lions would trail 1-0, going into halftime. The Lions would have four shots in the first half, while the Screaming Eagles had five. Lions' goaltender, Erika Anstine, made two saves in the first half. The Screaming Eagles goaltender would make three saves in the first frame.

Two minutes into the second frame, the Screaming Eagles would extend their lead to two, coming from an assisted goal. The Lions were able to keep the Screaming Eagles off the board for 35 straight minutes. In the 82nd minute of the game, the Screaming Eagles would find the back of the net once more extending their lead to three. The Lions would have five shots in the final frame. 

Anstine started in net for the Lions, making four saves. After this matchup, the Lions would move to 3-10-1 on the season and 1-5 in conference.
