Men's Swimming & Diving (Discontinued) Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving

Swimming and Diving Hosts Mizzou and SIU

After spending the last few weeks on the road competing, the Lindenwood Swimming and Diving teams returned home to host the University of Missouri and Southern Illinois University.

In the men's 1M Championship (Six Dives), David Molina Fregenal captured second with 268.20, as teammate Noah Boyd landed in third with 248.60. On the women's side, Ashley Garcia scored 215.10 for third place. For the men's 2M Championship (Six Dives), Fregenal and Boyd took first and third respectively with a total of 287.20 and 270.85.

Megan Hollaar claimed third in the women's 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:22.63, while Adam Szczerba also finished in third for the men in 9:33.09. In the men's 200-yard freestyle, Matheo Mateos-Mongelos recorded a second-place finish with a time of 1:38.87. The men's 100-yard breaststroke saw Johan Cue Carrillo claim first with a time of 53.76.

In the men's 200-yard butterfly, Patryk Winiatowski finished in third (1:49.99). Ondrej Dusa claimed third in the men's 100-yard freestyle with a time of 44.95. For the women's 200-yard breaststroke, Beata Maruszczyk finished in 2:16.69 for second place. On the men's side, Polat Tasbasi completed the event in 2:01:59 for third. Szczerba claimed first in the men's 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:30.98.

Winiatowski finished in first (48.31) in the men's 100-yard butterfly. For the men's 400-yard IM, Mateos-Mongelos and Nick Williams finished in first and third respectively with times of 3:53.22 and 3:59.91. In the men's 200-yard freestyle relay, Lindenwood's Kowalczyk, Winiatowski, Trevor Danner and Dusa finished in third with a time of 1:20.84.

Head Coach Jason Owen stated, "Despite some injuries and setbacks today, the Lions put on a show while hosting two top regional teams. The men recorded their first ever team win over SIU and had multiple event wins. The women also were able to come out on top in some races. We are excited to travel to Indiana State for the first time tomorrow and continue racing in preparations for our invitational at Mizzou in a few weeks."

Lindenwood will be back in action on November 11th, in a dual meet against Indiana State University and the University of Indianapolis. Meet time is slated for 1:00 pm CST.
