ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Lindenwood women's volleyball (13-13, 9-6 OVC) suffered a tough four set loss on senior day against a familiar foe in Southern Indiana (11-15, 7-8 OVC) by a final score of 3-1. The Lions remain in third place in the OVC despite the loss.
Nyah Wilson was the leader for the Lions picking up her 12th double-double of the season after posting 13 kills and 16 digs. She also contributed two of the Lions five service aces in the match.
Rebecca Janke and
Anna Kraemer both provided a lift to the offense picking up 12 kills each. Janke led they was with an efficient .400 hitting percentage. She also added four blocks including three solo.
Lindenwood hurt themselves on Thursday with 12 serving errors and 23 attack errors. USI only had five blocks the entire evening while Lindenwood posted 10. The Lions were also forced into eight reception errors. LU's largest set loss was by just four points.
As a team, Lindenwood hit around their season average with a .196. They had a total of 56 kills, same as Southern Indiana. Eight different Lions posted a kill including graduating senior
Amber Schade (one kill).
Southern Indiana was led by Preseason All-OVC selection Leah Anderson with 24 kills, four aces and nine digs. She was only one of two Screaming Eagles to post double-digit kills.
Defensively,
Jessie Seidel had a match high 21 digs while
Allie Otten picked up seven. Otten also led the team in assists with 23 while
