On Sunday, the Lindenwood women's lacrosse team traveled to Louisville, Ky., to take on the University of Louisville Cardinals. The Lions would fall to the Cardinals by a score of 14-7.
Overview
The Cardinals would tally the first three goals of the game. The Lions would get on the board at the 3:12 mark of the first quarter coming from an
Emma Arnold shot. The Cardinals would score two more times to end the frame with the Cardinals leading 5-1 going into the second quarter. In the second, the Cardinals would start the scoring off having three right off the bat. The Lions would score at the 6:17 mark coming from
Sara Grieco. The Cardinals would score once more, while the Lions would score the last two goals of the first half coming from
Logann Eldredge. The score going in to the second half was the Cardinals leading 9-4.
In the third quarter, scoring was stifled with the Lions scoring once coming from
Elisabeth Ralph and the Cardinals scoring twice. In the fourth, the Cardinals would score three times while the Lions would score twice coming from
Lindsey Smith and
Sam Irwin.
Eldredge and Arnold led the Lions in scoring both having three points. Eldredge led the Lions in goals with two, and Arnold would lead the Lions in assists with two.
Lexy Biller led the Lions in draw controls with six.
Eleanor Kast started in net for the Black and Gold, making nine saves on twenty-three shots.
