BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --Lindenwood ran into a buzzsaw in the circle Sunday as sophomore Angelina Russo threw a no-hitter with four strikeouts for Ball State, leading the Cardinals over the Lions 10-1.
Freshman Avery Wapp (0-3) started and took the loss in the circle for Lindenwood (MO) (2-8, ).
In the batter's box, the Lions were led by sophomore Mya Bethany, who went 0-for-2 on the day with an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions were trailing 4-0 in the fourth inning when they first put runs on the board. Freshman Dallis Darnell came across to score the lone run of the inning for Lindenwood (MO) and get them on the board. The Lions were unable to get any closer, as Ball State added six runs to their tally on the way to a 10-1 final.
