The Lindenwood men's basketball team (9-16, 4-8 OVC) will host SIUE on Thursday night for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff from Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
Lindenwood is coming off of back-to-back wins on its home floor to start the month of February. The Lions took down Eastern Illinois last week by a final of 80-67, before climbing back to beat UT Martin on Saturday.
Kevin Caldwell Jr. had a well-rounded night against the Panthers, as he led the team with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including 5-of-6 from three-point range. The Alton, Ill. native dished out six assists and pulled down five boards. After an early exit for Caldwell Jr. during Saturday's matchup,
Tommie Williams came off the bench in his place to post 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting. The Belleville, Ill. native pulled down five boards, dished out four assists, and committed just one turnover.
In early January, the Lions visited Edwardsville, Ill. and left with a 68-58 loss to the Cougars.Â
Brandon Trimble and Cole led the team with 12 points each, as Trimble knocked down 3-of-5 from behind the arc. Lindenwood pulled within six points with 47 seconds remaining in the game, but the Cougars held on for the win in the first game of the season series.
Lindenwood is now 4-8 in conference play, which is currently good for eighth place. The Lions are two games back from seventh place, and three games behind SIUE who sits in a tie for third place in the OVC standings.
Lindenwood will hit the road for three-straight games starting on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. as the Lions take on Southern Indiana in Evansville, Ind.
