The Lindenwood Men's Basketball team fell in their lone exhibition matchup of the 2026-27 preseason at Southern Illinois on October 20 by a final score of 75-71. The Lions came back from down double digits in each half to close the gap on the Salukis, thanks to 11 points and 11 rebounds in the first half from Marsai Mason, and 17 combined second half points from Malek Archie and Xavier Spencer. The Lions had four score in double figures with Archie, Spencer, and Mason all having 14 and Shamiere Green adding 11 points on 50% shooting from the field.

The Lions will now head to Fort Worth, Texas on Monday evening to tip off the regular season at TCU. Five of the 14 newcomers are Freshman, while the rest of the squad are transfers from the NAIA and Division I levels.
