ST. CHARLES, Mo. --The Lindenwood softball team (5-12, 0-1 OVC) got dropped the first OVC game of the season in a 14-1 loss to the Tennessee State Lady Tigers (10-10-1, 1-0 OVC) on Saturday.
Senior Amanda Weyh (3-3) got the ball to start for Lindenwood and took the loss. In addition to her three hits, Irelynn West had two doubles to lead the Lions. Sophomore Lauren Pelton put together a solid performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-3 with a home run and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions were trailing 7-0 in the sixth inning when they first put runs on the board. Pelton put Lindenwood on the board with a two-out solo home run. The Lions were unable to get any closer, as Tennessee State added seven runs to their tally on the way to a 14-1 final.
