Men’s Lacrosse Drops First Conference Matchup

On Saturday, the Lindenwood men's lacrosse team (1-3) traveled to Cleveland, Ohio to take on the Cleveland State Vikings for their first conference game in the ASUN. The Lions would come up short, falling to the Vikings 14-12 after a late scoring surge in the fourth.

Overview
The Vikings would start the scoring affair in this matchup, notching the first two goals of the game. The Lions would strike back with one of their own, coming from Shane Egen. The Vikings would score twice more to end the quarter, while the Lions would only score once more coming from JP Morris. The Vikings would lead 4-2 going into the second frame. In the second quarter, the Lions once again would score twice while the Vikings would score five times increasing their lead to 9-4 going into the second half. Scorers in the second period for the Lions included Sam Shaffer and Ryan Kemp.

In the third quarter, the Lions defense would slow down the Vikings scoring, by only giving up three goals in the third. The Lions would score twice in the third, coming from Adrian Thompson and Shaffer.

In the fourth quarter, the Lions found their stride in the scoring department, rifling off six goals in the final period, but came up just short, falling to the Vikings 14-12.

Blake Nolan started in net for the Lions, making 19 saves on 33 shots on net. Five lions had at least two goals.
