Marks, Maruszczyk Garner Summit League Academic Honors

Stephanie Marks and Beata Maruszczyk of the Lindenwood swimming and diving program have earned Summit League Academic All-League status, as announced on Wednesday. Nominations are made by athletic communications directors from the leagues nine institutions.

To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions

Marks and Maruszczyk were part of a women's squad that put together an outstanding inaugural Division I season. As a team, the Lions finished third at the Summit League Championships, behind strong performances from Marks and Maruszcyzk.

Marks earned all-conference selections in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay, 100 Backstroke, 400 Medley Relay and 200 Backstroke. The Colgate, Wis. native was tabbed the Women's Scholar of the Championship after compiling a 4.0 cumulative GPA as an historical studies major.

Maruszcyzk garnered all-conference honors in the 200 Medley Relay, 400 Medley Relay, 100 IM, 200 Breaststroke and 400 Freestyle Relay, while also having success in the classroom with a 3.97 cumulative GPA as a biological science major.
