LITTLE ROCK, Ark. --Sophomore Noah Burkey, junior Camden Sargent and junior Jacob Weatherley combined to throw a shutout on Sunday as the Little Rock Trojans blanked the Lindenwood Lions 10-0.
Sophomore Bennett Stice (1-4) got the ball to start for Lindenwood (3-21, 0-3 OVC) and took the loss. Freshman Carson Subbert was a bright spot for the Lions, coming out of the bullpen and throwing 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit, with no walks and four strikeouts.
In the batter's box, the Lions were paced by sophomore Dawson Hokuf, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a double.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Lindenwood managed one chance with runners on third in the shutout, going a total of 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position. The Lions last got a runner on third in the first, when sophomore Marcus Heusohn made it 90 feet away from scoring with one out.
GAME NOTES
» Lindenwood (MO) pitchers faced 32 Little Rock hitters in the game, allowing six ground balls and five fly balls while striking out five.
» Hokuf led the Lions at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double.
» Little Rock was led offensively by junior Skyler Trevino, who went 3-for-4 with a double, two home runs and five RBI.
» Sargent led the Trojans pitching staff, throwing three shutout innings.
