Snaidauf Tallies Three Hits in Loss For Softball

GAME 1 | Southeast Missouri State 5, Lindenwood 3

ST. CHARLES, Mo --Junior Theresa Snaidauf strung together three hits, but the Lindenwood Lions fell to the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks 5-3 Saturday.

Senior Amanda Weyh (5-9) started and took the loss in the circle for Lindenwood (13-22, 5-6). Freshman Molly Heidrick was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going 5.1 innings, surrendering one run on four hits.

In addition to her three hits, Snaidauf had an RBI to lead the Lions. Sophomore Irelynn West put together a standout day at the dish as well, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Sophomore Mya Bethany also contributed for Lindenwood putting together two hits in three trips to the plate while adding a walk.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lions were trailing 4-0 in the second inning when they first put runs on the board. Lindenwood scored twice, with one run coming across on Snaidauf's single.

The Lions deficit expanded to 5-2 before their offense got back on the scoreboard, cutting into that deficit in the seventh inning. Bethany came across to score the lone run of the inning for Lindenwood, which tightened the Redhawks lead to 5-3. The Lions were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.

» Snaidauf led the Lions, compiling three hits in the ballgame.
» Lindenwood's highest scoring inning was the second, when it pushed two runs across.
» Lindenwood left 10 runners stranded on base in the loss.
» Lindenwood pitchers faced 33 Southeast Missouri State hitters in the game, allowing seven ground balls and 11 fly balls while striking out one.
» The Lions drew five walks from Southeast Missouri State pitching.
» Snaidauf led the Lions at the plate, going 3-for-4 with an RBI.
» Southeast Missouri State was led offensively by junior Paige Halliwill, who went 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBI.
» Junior Paytience Holman led the Redhawks pitching staff, throwing five innings of one-run ball
