The Lindenwood softball team (13-23, 5-8 OVC) fell 15-0 to Southeast Missouri State (23-9, 15-1 OVC) in the conclusion of the second game of the series on Sunday afternoon.

The Lions fell behind early and couldn't get much going offensively. Morgan Gersch went 2-2 at the plate, while Theresa Snaidauf went 1-2 at the dish on the day
GAME 2 | Southeast Missouri State 6, Lindenwood 4
ST. CHARLES, Mo. --The Lindenwood Lions took a 1-0 lead into the sixth inning, but could not hang on and fell 6-4 to the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks Sunday.
Freshman Avery Wapp (4-6) got the ball to start for Lindenwood (13-24, 5-9) and took the loss.
At the plate, the Lions were led by sophomore Irelynn West, who went 4-for-4 on the day with a double and an RBI. Freshman Jolie McMinn compiled a standout day at the dish as well, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Junior Theresa Snaidauf also contributed for Lindenwood, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding a walk and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions got on the scoreboard first, starting in the fifth inning. Lindenwood got on the board thanks to West's RBI double with two outs.
The Redhawks then rallied to score six runs and take a 6-1 lead before the Lions got back on the board in the seventh. Lindenwood (MO) put together a three-run frame, culminating in a run-scoring single from McMinn, which tightened the Redhawks lead to 6-4. The Lions were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
