Shea collects Three Hits in Loss For Baseball

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. --The Lindenwood Lions got a boost from junior Colin Shea, who totaled three hits in a 20-8 loss to the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks Sunday.

Freshman Carson Subbert (1-3) started and took the loss on the mound for Lindenwood (9-35, 5-10).

In addition to his three hits, Shea had two doubles to lead the Lions. Sophomore Marcus Heusohn put together a standout day at the plate as well, going 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk and two RBI. Junior Tyson Ludwig also contributed for Lindenwood (MO), putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding a double and two RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lions were trailing 8-0 in the third inning when they first put runs on the board. Lindenwood plated two runs when Heusohn left the yard with Shea aboard.

The Lions deficit expanded to 15-2 before their offense got back on the scoreboard, cutting into that deficit in the sixth inning. The Lindenwood offense exploded for six runs, highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of Ludwig and a two-run single from freshman Landon Willbrand, which tightened the Redhawks lead to 15-8. The Lions were unable to get any closer, as Southeast Missouri State added five runs to their tally on the way to a 20-8 final.
