Men’s Lacrosse Drops Close Game to Detroit Mercy

On Saturday, the men's lacrosse team (2-6) traveled to the Motor City, to take on Detroit Mercy. The Lions would fall to the Titans 17-16 in a closely contested matchup.

Overview
The Lions would tally the first goal of the game, coming from Flint Thielen. The Titans would quickly bounce back scoring one of their own.  Later on in the quarter, Wesley Scurci would take the lead for Lions, but Detroit would come back with one of their own 30 seconds later. The Lions would go on a 4-0 run to end the quarter, leading 6-2 going into the second frame. In the second quarter, the Titans would score seven times while the Lions would score three times, with the halftime score tied at 9-9.

Thielen would start off the scoring in the second half for the Lions. The third quarter was a back-and-forth battle, with the Lions scoring, then the Titans scoring. Both teams would tally four times, with the score being 13-13 going into the fourth.  The Lions would tally the first three scores in the fourth to lead 16-13. The Titans would control the last ten minutes of the game coming back from a three goal deficit, scoring four times and taking the lead at the 5:45 mark.
Blake Nolan started in net for the Lions making five saves.
