On Saturday, the Lindenwood women's lacrosse team (6-7) face-offed against Jacksonville at home. The Lions would fall 26-6 to the Dolphins.
Overview
Jacksonville started off with the first two goals of the game. Two minutes later, the Lions would put their first tally on the board coming from
Lindsey Smith. The Dolphins would score the next four goals to increase their lead 6-1. The Lions would score twice more, while the Dolphins would score three more times, with the Dolphins leading 8-3 going into the second quarter. Scorers for the Lions in the first quarter included Smith,
Paige Sutton, and
Logann Eldredge. In the second frame, the Lions would start off the scoring coming from
Natalie Gane. The Dolphins would control the rest of the scoring in the quarter, tallying eight consecutive goals.
In the third quarter, with strong defensive play, the Dolphins would hold the Lions scoreless. The Dolphins in the third would score seven unanswered. In the fourth quarter, the Lions would break their third quarter scoreless drought tallying twice coming from
Katie Jones and
Olivia Tighe. The Dolphins would also score twice in the fourth.
