EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. --The SIU-Edwardsville Cougars were too much for Lindenwood on this particular day, as the Lions fell 4-1 on Sunday.
Freshman Molly Heidrick (1-2) started and took the loss in the circle for Lindenwood (16-31, 8-15). Freshman Avery Wapp was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going 3.2 shutout innings while allowing three hits, walking none and striking out three.
Junior Emma Daniels led the way offensively for the Lions, going 1-for-2 in the ballgame with a double.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the third inning. Daniels came across to score the lone run of the inning for Lindenwood and get them on the board. The Lions were unable to hold the lead, as SIU-Edwardsville scored four times over the remaining four innings to grab the 4-1 win.
