In its first NCAA Division I season in 2022, Lindenwood finished the year with a 7-3 record, including a 4-1 mark on home turf. The Lions won a trio of contests by three points or less and received votes in the FCS weekly poll on three different occasions during the year.

Last season, the Lions ranked atop the conference in eight offensive categories during the year, including: scoring, total offense, pass offense, pass efficiency, first downs per game, third down conversion percentage, time of possession per game, and red zone offense. Overall, Lindenwood has a play calling efficiency rating of 87.4, the highest in the Ohio Valley Conference

Cole Dugger is set to take over at quarterback after the graduation of
Cade Brister. The Owasso, Okla. native was efficient last season, completing 65 percent of his passes, while throwing for four touchdowns.

Lindenwood brings back a powerful running back in
Robert Giaimo, who missed the majority of last season due to injury. Two years ago, Giaimo was the GLVC Freshman of the Year after producing 11 scores on the ground.

Defensively,
Kobe McClendon will lead a unit up front. The St. Mary's product was named a Stats Perform FCS Freshman All-American in 2022. McClendon finished his year with 7.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, and an outstanding five quarterback hurries.
