On Sunday, the Lindenwood women's soccer team traveled to Edwardsville, Ill., to take on SIUE. The Lions would fall to the Cougars 1-0.
MATCH OVERVIEW
In the first half, it would not take long for the scoring to start. Six minutes into the match the Cougars would put a shot in the back of the net to have an early 1-0 lead. The Lions would have one shot in the half coming from
Karleigh Daniels and would give up eight shots.
Erika Anstine would make four saves in the half. Going to the half the Cougars would lead 1-0.
In the second half strong defense kept both teams off the scoreboard. The Lions would give up seven shots while the Cougars would give up one shot, in the second frame. The lone shot for the Lions in the second half came from
Mia Corrigan. Anstine made three saves in the second half to keep the Cougars off the scoring column. The Lions had four corners in the second half. After this fixture, the Lions moved to 2-7-1 on the season and 0-2 in OVC play.
