The Lindenwood women's ice hockey team returns to play on Friday, January 5th and Saturday, January 6th, taking on Minnesota State-Mankato on the road. Friday's game will be played at 6:00 PM CST and Saturday's game will be at at 3:00 PM CST. All games will be hosted at Mayo Clinic HSEC, in Mankato, Minn.
The Lions are currently 7-10-1 on the season and 2-5-1 in CHA, sitting at the fifth spot in the CHA.
Morgan Neitzke currently leads the Lions and the CHA in points with 29. Neitzke also leads Lindenwood and the CHA in goals with 18. Other offensive players to watch for Lindenwood include,
Sarah Davies who is second on the team in points with 18 and
Rachel Goff who is third on the team in points with 13.Â
Natalie Ferenc has played 12 games in net for the Lions, making 403 saves on 58 goals against, for a save percentage of 87.4%.
The Lions are looking to sweep Minnesota State on the road, to bring their record to 9-10-1 on the season.Â
This will be the 30th time in program history the Lions will take on Mankato. Historically, the Lions are 4-23-2 against the Mavericks, with the Lions falling to the Mavericks 5-2, in their most recent matchup (1/7/23). The Mavericks are currently 7-12-0 on the year, and 3-11-0 in conference, sitting in sixth place in the WCHA. Leading scorers for the Mavericks include, Sydney Langseth with 20 points, Jamie Nelson with 16 points, and Whitney Tuttle with 15 points.
