The Lindenwood women's basketball team (2-9, 0-1 OVC) hits the road for an Ohio Valley Conference showdown with Western Illinois (10-3, 1-1 OVC) this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Macomb, Ill.

The Lions opened conference play last weekend with a tough 71-68 loss to Southern Indiana at home. The squad had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer, but
Mary McGrath's look came up just short. The black and gold were led by
Mya Skoff who tallied a career-high 16 points on 6-of-10 from the field in 35 minutes.

Ellie Brueggemann was the other Lindenwood player in double-figures with 14. The Owasso, Okla. native continues to have a solid freshman campaign, averaging a team-best 14.5 points per game, while recording double digits in nine contests. Brueggemann knocked down four three pointers against the Screaming Eagles and now averages 3.2 makes from beyond the arc, tops in the conference.

Gracie Kelsey provided good minutes off the bench last Sunday, registering eight points and seven rebounds. This was her fourth game with at least five rebounds and now leads the team, averaging 3.6 boards per game.

Lindenwood recorded 14 assists on 25 made field goals against USI.
Makayla Wallace led the charge with six dimes and continues to pace the team, averaging 2.8 assists per game. The St. Louis, Mo. native filled the stat sheet on Sunday with seven points, six assists, four steals, and two rebounds.

This is the first of a three-game road trip for the Lions as they will take on Southeast Missouri State, and Tennessee State on the road before returning home on January 18.
