BETHANY, Okla. - Lindenwood women's rugby (1-0) picked up their first win of the season after defeating the Southern Nazarene University Crimson Storm (4-2) on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 92-7. This marked the first ever win for the Lions after their transition to emerging sport status.

GAME RECAP
Southern Nazarene scored first to start the day during the eighth minute of action with a successful try. Lindenwood answered quickly in the 10th minute with the first try of the season after Lucía del Campo Andrés posted a successful push up the field.
Reigning Sorenson award winner
Freda Tafuna scored her first of 10 tries during the 13th minute of action.
Jasmine Fehoko (24th minute) and
Claire Ferguson (28th minute) posted back-to-back successful tries. Tafuna and Ferguson would each run in one more before the half.
Coming out of halftime, Fehoko posted her second successful try of the afternoon during the 41st minute. She was followed by Tafuna in the 44th minute, del Camp in the 57th and Ava Reuter in the 61st.
The afternoon came to a close in Bethany, Okla. when Lindenwood's Fehoko, Jule-dine Kawa'auhau and Reuter all scored successful tries. Lindenwood would score 91 unanswered points on Saturday en route to their first win.
Tafuna was 10 out of 11 on conversions on Saturday while Sophie O'Cain was one for three and Joselin Lopez was two for two.
