ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Lindenwood women's rugby team (2-0) hits the road for the third time this season as they take on Grand Canyon University (0-0) at the GCU Track/Practice Soccer Field. Lindenwood has averaged 82.5 points per match so far this season.
WHAT TO KNOW
- This is the first time in program history that these two schools will be meeting
- On average, Lindenwood has held their opponents to five points per game including a season-low three put up by BYU last weekend
- Twelve different Lions scored last weekend in Provo, Utah against the Cougars of BYU
- Freda Tafuna went 7/13 on conversions
- Lola Unga was the lone Lion to score multiple tries last Saturday
- Jasmine Fehoko, Tanaka Kanyepi, Claire Ferguson, Irie Farley, Lucia del Campo, Meg Maiava, Tafuna, Madison Jersey, Sophie O'Cain and Ava Rueter also scored tries in the win
- Lindenwood is coached by Trevor Locke in his third season at the helm, he is assisted by Colten Hernadez
- Freda Tafuna returns to St. Charles for her final season after taking home the Sorensen Award in 2024 (given to the best Women's College Rugby Player)
