MARYLAND HIEGHTS, MO. – On Saturday, men's ice hockey took on #14 Ohio State for the second time this weekend. The Lions would fall to the nationally ranked Buckeyes 3-2, after holding an early 1-0 lead. After the contest, Lindenwood moves to 2-9-1 on the 2024-25 campaign.
GAME OVERVIEW
In the first period, Lindenwood would take the early 1-0 lead at 1:38 into the frame. Lindenwood's goal would be scored by
Jaeden Mercier who make a move past a Buckeye defender and would stick it past the goaltenders glove side into the top-right corner of the net. Mercier's goal would be assisted by
Thomas Jarman and
Jake Southgate. At 12:03, Ohio State would tie the game up at 1-1, scoring their first goal of the afternoon on the power-play. After one period of play, Lindenwood would be tied with the Buckeyes at 1-1. The Lions would have five shots on net in the frame.
