MARYLAND HIEGHTS, MO. – On Saturday, men's ice hockey took on #14 Ohio State for the second time this weekend. The Lions would fall to the nationally ranked Buckeyes 3-2, after holding an early 1-0 lead. After the contest, Lindenwood moves to 2-9-1 on the 2024-25 campaign.

GAME OVERVIEW
In the first period, Lindenwood would take the early 1-0 lead at 1:38 into the frame. Lindenwood's goal would be scored by Jaeden Mercier who make a move past a Buckeye defender and would stick it past the goaltenders glove side into the top-right corner of the net. Mercier's goal would be assisted by Thomas Jarman and Jake Southgate. At 12:03, Ohio State would tie the game up at 1-1, scoring their first goal of the afternoon on the power-play. After one period of play, Lindenwood would be tied with the Buckeyes at 1-1. The Lions would have five shots on net in the frame. Henry Graham would make 11 saves in the period.

In the second period, Ohio State would get on the board first. Ohio State's first goal of the frame would come at 6:45 in the period. Almost seven minutes later, at 13:07, Mercier would score his second goal of the game off a wrist shot from the high-slot, to tie the game up at 2-2. Mercier's goal would be assisted by Noah Houle and David Gagnon, while on the power-play. The game would not be tied for very long, with Buckeyes retaking the one goal lead, just 39 seconds later. After two periods of play, the Lions would trail the Buckeyes 3-2. In the frame, Lindenwood had 13 shots on net. Graham in the frame made four saves.

In the third period, both teams would be held off the scoresheet. Lindenwood had one final goal-scoring opportunity at the end of the game but would be stopped by Buckeyes' goaltender. In the third period, Lindenwood had ten shots on net, for a total of 28 on the afternoon. Graham made five saves for a total of 20 on the night.
