BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - The Ohio Valley Conference announced on Thursday their last OVC Weekly Awards before the start of the OVC Championships hosted in Cape Girardeau, Mo. on Sunday.
Allie Otten and
Autumn Bax were both named as award winners during the final week of the regular season.
Lindenwood was able to win two straight matches at Little Rock to secure the #2 seed heading into next week's Tournament. The Lions survived on Tuesday evening with a five-set winner before going into Wednesday's match winning in three sets.
Otten was instrumental in Lindenwood's two victories combining for a total of 96 assists in two matches. She average 12.00 assists over eight sets. Otten also led the team with five service aces and had 29 digs.
In match one, Otten went over 50 assists for the fourth straight match with 53 assists while adding 16 digs. Otten helped the Lions come back from being down 2-1 to take the last two sets. She also added five kills and three aces.
Going into the second match, Otten posted her most assists in a three-set match with 43. She again had her second double-double of the weekend with 13 digs while adding another five kills and two aces. Lindenwood hit .257 during the second match with 53 kills.
Bax posted back-to-back 11 kill matches in two wins over the Trojans. During match one, Bax had 11 kills while adding three block assists in the five set win. She followed that with another 11 kills during a three-set win while hitting .280. Bax also set the Lindenwood freshman kills record with her 291st during the second match vs. Little Rock.
Lindenwood will head to the OVC Championships on Sunday, Nov. 24th and will take on the #7 seed SIUE Cougars at 10:00 a.m. CT. For more information go to lindenwoodlions.com.
