Women's Volleyball Earns Five All-Conference Selections

Head coach Will Condon was recognized as the OVC Coach of the Year

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The Ohio Valley Conference on Saturday announced the All-OVC teams and individual awards for the 2024 season. Lindenwood after going 20-10 in 2024, received five all-conference honorees and three individual awards.
 
Head coach Will Condon was named the 2024 OVC Coach of the Year after guiding the Lions to their best Division I season in program history and finishing second in the conference. Under Condon, the Lions posted their most wins (20) since the 2017 season. Their 14 OVC wins marked their most conference wins in the NCAA era.
 
Condon led a group that posted some of the top numbers in the OVC. During OVC play, Lindenwood ranked first in hitting percentage (.236), assists per set (13.39), kills per set (14.48) and second in points per set (17.69). Condon coached five all-conference players this season including the OVC Setter and Freshman of the Year.
 
Allie Otten was honored as the OVC Setter of the Year after leading the OVC in total assists with 750 during OVC play. Her 11.36 assists per set average vs. OVC opponents also ranks first. The St. Peters, Mo. native had a total of 1,147 assists during her 2024 season averaging just shy of 10.00 assists per set (9.97).
 
Otten set records this season at Lindenwood posting her 3,000th career assist becoming just the third Lion in history to do so. She also broke the all-time Lindenwood assists record on senior night with her 3,232nd of her career. Otten posted over 1,000 digs in her career and has 362 during her final season. Otten was named the OVC Setter of the Week six times during the 2024 season.
 
She has posted seven matches this season with over 50 assists including having a season-high 57 twice against Western Illinois and SIUE. Otten has also complied a team-high 36 aces during the season while adding 78 kills and 28.0 blocks. Not only was Otten named the OVC Setter of the Year but also made the All-OVC First Team.
 
Autumn Bax was the final individual award winner for the Lions as she was named the OVC Freshman of the Year. In just one season at Lindenwood, Bax ranks second on the team in kills with 301. For the entire season, Bax ranks 10th in the OVC in hitting percentage with a .273 while also finishing fifth in kills per set averaging 3.14.
 
The Jefferson City native holds the Lindenwood freshman kills record after compiling her 291st at Little Rock. The previous record holder was Bailey Dvorak with 290 back in 2015. Bax has 18 matches this season with double-digit kills including a season-high 18 vs. Southern Illinois. She is a four-time OVC Freshman of the Week.
 
She is one of three Lindenwood Lions to average over 3.00 kills a set in OVC play and ranks fifth overall with an average of 3.36. Bax ranks seventh in conference matches in points per set averaging 3.39. During her lone season at LU, Bax ranks fourth on the team in blocks with 30.0 and has complied 65 digs.
 
Nyah Wilson was also named to the All-OVC First team during her senior season. The senior from Advance, Mo. led the Lions in total kills (324) and points (374.5) while averaging 2.84 kills per set. Wilson had 18 matches this season with over 10 kills including a season-high 24 kills vs. UT Martin on Oct. 19th. She also had 12 double-doubles.
 
Defensively, Wilson was third on the team in digs with 342 for an average of 3.00 per set. She also had 33.0 blocks for Lindenwood and 29 service aces (29). She helped the Lions post their best record in the Division I era.
 
Wilson ranked eighth in kills per set during OVC play in the conference with an average of 3.15 per set. She also ranked sixth in points per set with an average of 3.62. For her career, Wilson has 950 kills while having 1,246 digs.
 
Rebecca Janke garnered All-OVC First Team honors after leading the Lions in the middle with 280 kills. Janke was the Lions' most consistent attacker posting a .355 hitting percentage on 684 attacks with just 37 errors. Earlier this season, Janke became just the second Lion to have over 1,000 kills for their career (NCAA era).
 
She currently leads the OVC this season in hitting percentage. Among those qualified for HP%, she is fourth in the OVC with 280 kills. Janke also is 10th in points per set in the OVC with an average of 3.38. She has been effective in conference matches as well leading the league with a .385 HP%. Janke also ranks fourth in kills per set with a 3.84 and fourth in points averaging 3.91 p/s.
 
In a win over Western Illinois earlier this season, Janke had 26 kills which marked the most kills in a match by any Lindenwood player during the NCAA era. She has recorded 14 matches this season with at least 10+ kills and ranks second on the team in total blocks with 66.0. Janke is the all-time leader at LU in solo blocks with 86.
 
Last but not least, Jessie Seidel was named as the fourth Lindenwood Lion to the All-OVC First Team. Lindenwood led the entire league with four first team selections. Seidel was just one of two liberos named to the first team.
 
Seidel was Lindenwood's leader on defense recording a team-high 567 digs for an average of 5.20 per set. She recorded double-digit digs in all 30 matches this season including a season-high 36 in a five-set win over SIUE. Seidel had five matches this season with over 30 digs and posted her most digs in a three-set match last week at Little Rock (26). She ranks second on the team in assists (124) and fourth in aces with 26.
 
Over the course of her five seasons at Lindenwood, Seidel holds the all-time record for digs with 2,276. She is the only Lion in program history to record over 2,000 in their career. During OVC play, Seidel ranks second in digs per set averaging 5.68. Overall, Lindenwood ranks third in the OVC in digs per set (18.15) and is only one of four OVC schools to record over 2,000 this season.
