MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MINN. – On Thursday night, women's ice hockey (1-8-1) took on St. Thomas (4-5-1) in game one of two against the Tommies. The Lions would fall to the Tommies 7-2, moving to 1-9-1 on the season.
GAME OVERVIEW
In the first period, St. Thomas would find the back of the net first, scoring 11:06 into the period. At 17:59,
Gigi Pora would get the Lions on the board, scoring her second goal of the season on a breakaway opportunity. Pora's goal would be assisted by
Sydney Rarick. In the final two minutes of the period, St. Thomas would score twice more, resulting in the Lions trailing 3-1 after a period of play.
In the second period St. Thomas would find the back of the net twice in the latter half of the period. The Tommies would hold the Lions off the scoresheet in the period, resulting in the Lions trailing 5-1 after 40 minutes of play.
In the third period, the Lions would get on the scoresheet first.
Morgan Neitzke would cut the Lions deficit to three, scoring off a shot, past the goaltender's glove side with little to no-angle, 11:47 into the period. Neitzke's goal would be the 50

Ellie Muscedere. St. Thomas would score two goals before the end of the game, extending their lead to five.
