Men’s Ice Hockey Drops Game Two to Omaha

OMAHA, NEB. – On Saturday night, men's ice hockey (4-12-1) took on Omaha (6-9-0, 4-4-0) in game two of the series versus the Mavericks. In a closely contested matchup, the Mavericks would get the better of the Lions, with the Lions falling to the Mavericks 2-1. After the contest, Lindenwood falls to 4-13-1 on the season, and Omaha would improve to 7-9-0.
 
GAME OVERVIEW
3:54 into the first period, Omaha recovered a rebound and found the back of the net from a slap-shot from the left wing, to gain the early 1-0 lead. With 2:06 left in the period, Tyler Loughman would redirect a David Gagnon pass, past the Omaha goaltender's glove side into the top-right corner of the net, tying the contest up at 1-1. Mitch Allard would also receive an assist on Loughman's goal. This would be Loughman's third goal of the season. After a period of play, Lindenwood would be tied 1-1 with Omaha. In the period, Lindenwood would have eight shots on net, and Owen Bartoszkiewicz would make 13 stops.
 
In the second period, Omaha would score the eventual game-winning goal at 15:23, coming from the low slot on a power-play. In the period, Lindenwood would have five shots on net and Bartoszkiwicz would make 11 saves.
