ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Lindenwood gymnastics (8-2) defeated Midwest Independent Conference opponent Illinois State on Senior Day by a final score of 196.075-195.250. The Lions posted three team event scores over 49.125.

INSIDE THE SCORES

• Trinity Caffey not only set her season best during her vault routine, but also set her new career high score with a 9.900. She finished first out of all gymnasts on Sunday while crushing her old high score of 9.875 which she set earlier this season at the Tennessee Collegiate Classic.
• Nya Kraus also set a personal best during her bars routine after posting a 9.900, tied for the highest score of the meet with teammate Hannah Appleget. Kraus' also was Lindenwood's highest beam score at a 9.775.
• Gayla Griswold continued to be one of the best performers on floor after posting a 9.900 on Sunday. She has scored over a 9.900 in three of her last four meets. She finished tied for second on Sunday on floor which snapped a four-meet first place streak. Griswold also scored a 9.850 on vault (T-2nd) and 9.750 on beam (T-5th).
• Jaly Jones and Hannah Appleget were the two all-around scorers for the Lions finishing in second and third. Jones scored a 39.075 on Sunday which marks her second highest AA score of the season. Her highest place on Sunday came on floor when she finished tied for fifth with a score of 9.850.
• Appleget finished with an all-around score of 38.875 which was also her second highest AA score of the season. Appleget finished with scores of 9.425 on vault, 9.900 on bars, 9.750 on beam and 9.800 on floor.
• Lindenwood's highest team score was on their floor routine which was a 49.200. They also scored the following on Sunday: 49.150 on vault, 49.125 on bars and 48.600 on beam.
