The last few days have been very busy for the Lindenwood swimming and diving teams, as they have just completed their third day of the Summit League Championships.
In the women's 100-yard butterfly, Kayla Bulseco finished with a time of 57.05. On the men's side, Elliott Irwin, who currently holds the Summit League record at 45.85, claimed first place with a time of 46.37, while teammate Patryk Winiatowski joined him on the podium, with a second-place finish in 47.41. For the women's 400-yard IM, Lindenwood's Lyssa Wood took second place in 4:20.15 and Matheo Mateos-Mongelos won first for the men with a time of 3:48.84.
Joselle Mensah, Kathryn Chaves, and Megan Hollar all recorded great times for the Lions in the women's 200-yard freestyle. For the men, Adam Szczerba earned third place in 1:38.74. Maja Piotrowicz finished in 1:01.80 in the women's 100-yard breaststroke. Johan Cue Carrillo set the record at 52.28 in 2023 and reclaimed first on the men's side with a time of 52.35, while his record is 52.28. Mattia Giurgevich finished in second (53.33). Stephanie Marks earned gold in the women's 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.99, while Piotr Kowalczyk earned second place for the Lions in 47.85.
On the diving side of the competition, Bennet Loving and David Molina-Fregenal landed in second and third place in the men's 3-meter dive, with totals of 355.75 and 319.95, respectively. Lindenwood's relay team made up of Kowalczyk, Carrillo, Irwin and Ondrej Dusa earned gold in the men's 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:10.33.
After three days of competition, the LU women are in third place with a total of 319.5 and the men are in second with 588 points.
